The Board of Directors have elected Jack Youd, Director since 2014, and City Councillor, to become our new Chair of the Board. We wish Jack every success in his new role.
I am sorry to report that Karen Burns our Vice Chair has decided to step down from her role with effect 1st October 2022. Karen has been a valued member of the Board since 2014 and leaves us with a heavy heart. Karen has moved out of the Salford area and feels it is time for a member of the local community to take over. We are in discussions with potential new Directors. I will update you when I know more. A new Vice Chair will be appointed by the Board in due course.
Sadly, our Chief Executive Sheila Murtagh has taken the decision to retire. Sheila has been the Chief Executive for over ten years and has overseen many changes during her tenure. The Credit Union has experienced year on year growth during Sheila’s time with us and we wish her well for her retirement and her future plans. Sheila will be missed by all the Staff, Directors, and our volunteers.
Following the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive, Mark Brazendale has been appointed to the role. He officially took over as Chief Executive from 1st October 2022. Mark has been with the Credit Union since 2012 and was the Chief Operating Officer prior to his promotion to the new role. Mark will provide an update in due course to say hello and he will share with you the many exciting developments that we have been working on behind the scenes.
